 V Patches & Star System

Students are rewarded special "Victory Stars". These different colored stars are rewards for outstanding performance in karate class, school, home or at a tournament competition. Students may receive the following stars:

Gold StarsGold - "School Work"

A's on report card or improved graded on report card, positive comments from teachers or special awards earned at school. These type of deeds can earn the student "Gold" stars.

Silver StarsSilver — "Outstanding Black Belt Attitude"

Blue StarsBlue — "Church, Charity and Chores"

Being active in church or helping the community with charity. Students can also earn stars from Mom and Dad by doing their chores at home. These should be done with little or no whining. All of these type of positive actions can earn the student "Blue" stars.

Red StarsRed— "Taekwondo"

These stars are earned every time they test or participate in tournaments. They can also receive red stars when they attend special clinics or workouts held at the school.

Longoria's Black Belt Academy prides itself on providing your Karate Kid with the most professional Taekwondo instruction available.

"Every kid is a winner, Every kid is special"

This is not only our slogan, but it is our true philosophy. Developing your child's physical conditioning, flexibility and balance through the use of the martial arts is only half of our goal. Developing your child's mental discipline, self-confidence, self-esteem and respect for themselves and others is our biggest challenge. Teaching kids to kick and punch is not difficult. Teaching them why is the true challenge.

The Victory Patch & Star system is our solution to this challenge. This is how it works...we have four different Victory Patches:

 BlueWhite with "Blue" trim

After earning 25 stars the student moves up to the next patch.

 SilverWhite with "Silver" trim

After earning 25 stars the student moves up to the next patch.

 GoldWhite with "Gold" trim

After earning 50 stars the student moves up to the next patch.

 Blue GoldBlue with "Gold" trim

After earning 100 stars the student will receive a special medal from Grand Master.
